ITALIAN SAUSAGE FLATBREAD WITH MASCARPONE CHEESE

Ingredients:
- 1 pack Hatfield® Recipe Essentials™ Hot Italian Sausage
- 4 flatbreads (or naan breads)
- 4 oz mascarpone cheese
- 1 small jar pizza sauce
- 1 green pepper, julienned
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- In a sauté pan over medium high heat, cook sausage, stirring and breaking up with a spoon. Cook sausage until browned, about 10 minutes. Place in a bowl and set aside.
- In the same pan, sauté peppers and onions until soft, about 8 minutes.
- Arrange the flatbreads on a baking sheet. Top each with 2 Tbsp mascarpone. Add pizza sauce, sausage, peppers, and onions. Cover with mozzarella.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until cheese is thoroughly melted and golden brown.
