CHEESY SAUSAGE STROMBOLI

Ingredients:
- 1 lb Hatfield® Recipe Essentials® Sweet or Hot Italian Ground Sausage
- 10 oz pizza dough, packaged or homemade
- 1 (14 oz) jar of pizza sauce
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 medium red pepper, chopped
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- ½ cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- ¼ cup butter, melted
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- In a large skillet over medium high heat, brown sausage until no pink shows. Drain and set aside.
- In the same pan with the onions and peppers, add the sausage and pizza sauce. Mix well.
- Sauté onion and pepper until soft, 6-7 minutes.
- Lay pizza dough on baking sheet. Place a heaping pile of sausage mixture on one side of the dough. There may be some leftover.
- Sprinkle cheeses. Fold dough over and pinch ends and sides together.
- Cut ¼-inch slits in the top of the dough and brush with melted butter.
- Cook in oven for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove and let sit for 5 minutes before serving.
