Bacon Bats

• In a small bowl whisk together brown sugar and maple syrup until sugar dissolves. Set aside.
• Pre-heat oven to 375°F.
• On a baking sheet using parchment paper place strips of bacon on top. Put in preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes.
• Remove bacon from oven. Let cool before cutting into bat shapes. Using kitchen scissors, cut the bacon into bat shapes. Using the thicker portion of the bacon strip, cut into bat wings and the small portion into bat heads. Brush the wings with brown sugar mixture and the heads. Place these shapes on a clean baking sheet with parchment paper the head and wings should be slightly overlapping. Place back into the oven for another 5 minutes until the brown sugar mixture begins to melt.
• Remove from oven, and place on a wire rack to begin cooling. Dip the eyes in the leftover brown sugar mixture and place on the head of the bat.
